Houston Football Spring Practice #6

Tuesday marked the third week of spring practice and practice #6 for the #HTownTakeover.
The Houston defense continued its undefeated spring in the circle drill with a tight 3-2 win over the offense after sporting the offense a 2-0 lead. Kevrin Justice and Josh Jones both grabbed wins inside the circle before Terrell Williams, nicknamed Gumby by his teammates, Nick Thurman and redshirt-freshman Jordan Milburn came back with wins, Milburn emphatically finishing his rep to send the defensive into a frenzy.
Helmets and pads were popping Tuesday as the intensity and toughness level increased, featuring the first installment of a one-on-one goal line drill between offensive and defensive players. In a 5x5 yard section, offensive players would scoop the ball off a blocking bag and head full speed towards a line with the defensive player attempting to keep the offensive teammate from crossing the line.

Spring Practice Notes:
Houston returns to practice Thursday afternoon, part of three workouts this week ... the week concludes with the first scrimmage of the spring ... Houston will hold its Student Appreciation Practice next Friday, April 8. Full details can be found here ... prelims for the fastest student compeition start Thursday, March 31, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the grassy area between the M.D. Anderson Library and Philip Guthrie Hoffman Hall.
Houston's spring practices conclude with the 2016 Red & White Game presented by Energy Ogre at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at TDECU Stadium. Fans can purchase general admission tickets ahead of time for just $5 at UHCougars.com/spring with tickets priced at $10 the day of the event.
