Houston Adds Chang and Jones to Staff

HOUSTON - Houston Football head coach Tom Herman named two members to his staff this spring with the addition of Director of Recruiting Derek Chang and Director of High School Relations and Player Development Edward Jones.

Chang comes to Houston after 19 months as a segment producer with the Longhorn Network. Prior to his time in Austin, Chang spent two seasons with Herman as a member of the Ohio State Football staff in a football recruiting assistant role. During his time in Columbus, Chang was part of a department that signed the nation's top three recruiting class in both 2013 and 2014. Prior to Ohio State, Chang spent eight years with ESPN as a member of the world-wide leader's production department, earning three Sports Emmy Awards in that time.
A University of Houston graduate, Jones joins the UH program after three years at Fort Bend Hightower High School where he served as the Hurricanes wide receivers coach while teaching world geography. While at Fort Bend, Jones was part of a staff that won three straight district championships. In addition to his coaching and teaching duties, Jones also served as the program's recruiting coordinator, academic coordinator and social media director. Prior to his time at Fort Bend, he spent three years at Cypress Lakes High School, coaching the program's safeties and teaching world geography.

2015 Houston Season Ticket Members can renew their season tickets now by visiting UHCougars.com/renew or by following the instructions in an email to each account holder. Season ticket members may renew in full or through an interest free payment plan with the final renewal deadline set for April 29. The renewal deadline to take advantage of a two-month payment plan is March 29.
