HOUSTON â€" Houston Softball dropped 4-1 to No. 24 Texas on the final day of the Hilton Houston Plaza Invitational Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars fall to 6-4 on the season while the Longhorns stay perfect with a 10-0 record.
After six shutout innings, senior first baseman Courtney Klingler blasted a solo home run over the centerfield fence for the Cougars lone run of the night. The bomb was her second this season and ninth of her career at UH.
Freshman starter Savannah Heebner (2-2) pitched her first complete game and allowed only three earned runs while striking out three. Offensively, Heebner went 2-for-3 with her first collegiate double.
