Alexa Anzaldua Joins Houston Softball

HOUSTON â€" Houston Softball and Head Coach Kyla Holas are excited to welcome junior Alexa Anzaldua to the program for the 2016 season.
"We are so fortunate to have Alexa available this spring," Holas said. "She will be a vital part of our defense this season. She has fit in right away and she is working hard to get up to speed on doing things Houston way."
Anzaldua comes to Houston after spending two seasons at Paris Junior College. She was the starting shortstop both years, appearing in 93 total games and batted in 41 runs for the Dragons. Both seasons, Anzaldua averaged .250+ batting average and led the teams with 11 doubles last season.
Prior to Paris JC, the junior middle fielder was a four-year letterwinner at Clear Brook High School. She helped the Wolverines to a 24-5A District Championship in 2010 and two Bi-District Championships in 2010 and 2013. Anzaldua was named All-District 24-5A honorable mention in 2011 and 2012 and All-District 24-5A first team 2013. She was also voted the team's offensive player of the year during her senior season.
