Houston Volleyball Sets Red and White Day

HOUSTON -- One week prior to the start of the 2015 season, Houston Volleyball is set to host the annual Red and White Day on Aug. 22 in the Athletics/Alumni Center.
The team will begin by hosting a free youth clinic for children eighth grade and younger starting at 12 p.m. Following the clinic, the Cougars will play an intrasquad scrimmage starting at 2 p.m.
During the match, the Cougars will focus on team systems while the coaching staff will use several different lineups to evaluate the teamwork and compatibility.
Houston Volleyball opens the 2015 season on the road as the Cougars travel to the Texas Tech Fall Invitational Aug. 28-29. The Cougars are scheduled to open tourney play on Friday against Louisiana-Lafayette at 1:30 p.m. and Utah State at 4:30 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas.
The Cougars open the home slate Sept. 18-19 with the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup as Houston hosts Nicholls State, Alabama A&M and Southeastern Louisiana.
