DALLAS - The University of Houston Women's Golf program wraps up the regular season when it tees off at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invitational on Friday morning.
The two-day, 54-hole event tees off at 8 a.m., with 36 holes starting Friday and continues with the final 18 holes at 8 a.m., Saturday, on the 6,345-yard, par-72 layout at Dallas Athletic Club. The Cougars, who stand at No. 51 nationally in the latest Golfstat rankings, are part of a 16-team field, which includes No. 14 Oklahoma State, No. 24 UC Davis, No. 27 Miami (Fla.), No. 31 Iowa State, No. 37 Purdue, No. 40 Texas Tech, No. 43 SMU, No. 49 TCU, Grand Canyon, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, North Texas, UTSA and Tulsa.

This will be the Cougars' first action as a team since finishing 10th at the SDSU Farms Invitational on March 23-25. Playing under match-play rules, the Cougars posted a 2-2 record with wins against UC Irvine and Michigan before falling to Long Beach State in the consolation championship.
HOUSTON LINEUP
Second-year head coach Gerrod Chadwell and assistant coach Lucy Nunn recently released the team's lineup for the year's final regular-season event. Juniors Raegan Bremer and Emily Gilbreth, senior Courtney Ferguson and freshmen Megan Thothong and Yuka Kajiki will represent the Cougars this weekend.
Bremer has been one of the Cougars' steadiest performers during his career. The Anaheim, Calif., native leads Houston with a 73.83 scoring average and eight rounds of par or better. In her most recent event, Bremer posted a 3-1-0 record at the SDSU Farms Invitational, winning each of her final three matches.
Competing in her first collegiate season, Thothong joins with Bremer as the only Cougars to compete in all eight team-scoring events this season. The Dallas native ranks second on the team with a 74.13 average and six rounds of par or better and became the second player in school history to win an individual championship with her title at the UNF Collegiate on March 9-10.
Ferguson is the Cougars' lone senior on the 2014-15 team. The Clear Lake, Texas, native was the only Cougar who did not lose at the SDSU Farms Invitational. After halving her first match against Colorado's Brittany Fan, Ferguson won each of her last three matches and did so handily, claiming victories by a combined 14 holes.
Gilbreth will compete in her eighth tournament of the season this weekend and has enjoyed a pair of top-5 finishes in 2014-15, including a career-best, second-place showing at the UNF Collegiate on March 9-10.
Kajiki joins Thothong as the only freshmen in the lineup this weekend. The Hiroshima, Japan, native has earned a pair of top-10 finishes this season, including a third-place showing at the Mary Fossum Invitational on Sept. 13-14 in the second collegiate event of her career.
UP NEXT
Following the SMU/DAC Invitational, the Cougars begin postseason play when they tee off at the American Athletic Conference Championships on April 19-21 at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club in Palm Coast, Fla. This will be the first time Houston has competed at a conference championship as a team after starting the program in the summer of 2013.
