HOUSTON - The University of Houston Softball team is set for its first road game since March 17 as the Cougars travel to Sam Houston State Wednesday.
First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Don Sanders Stadium in Huntsville, Texas. The two teams will face off for the 25th time in school history.
Sam Houston State will provide Live Stats.

• Houston leads, 21-3
• Last Meeting:Feb. 14-15, 2014 - Houston defeated the Bearkats (11-5, 13-5) in the season opener - Hilton Houston Plaza Classic.
HITS ON HOUSTON |
• Houston enters the week after taking the series win over East Carolina this weekend. The Cougars won in walk-off fashion during both games of Friday's doubleheader.
• Cougars dropped a heartbreaker to No. 25 Texas on Wednesday, 13-12.
• Houston Softball hosted the 9th Annual Striking Out Breast Cancer game presented by Wells Fargo. More than 1,500 fans came out to Cougar Softball Stadium, the largest crowd this season and the fourth largest crowd in school history.
• Senior Selena Hernandez was named The American Player of the Week for her outstanding performance at the plate. She went 3-for-3 against the Longhorns pitching staff with two jacks, four runs scored and three RBIs. Hernandez belted her fifth HR of the season in game two of the ECU series to tie the game, 1-1.
• Junior Julana Shrum went 3-for-4 with two HRs against the Texas battery as well including a grand slam, bringing in six runs. The two HRs are Shrum's 13th and 14th HRs of the season.
• Sophomore RHP Shelby Miller picked up her first American Weekly Honor Roll nod. She pitched her second complete game of the year for her fourth win of the season. The Sweeney, Texas, native gave up only one earned run on three hits, a walk and struck out a batter.

The Cougars continue conference play this weekend when they travel to Orlando, Fla., for a three-game series against conference leader UCF. The teams open the series with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon (CT) followed by the series finale on Sunday at 11 am (CT).
DOUBLE THE TROUBLE |
In the 38 games played so far this season, Houston has already turned 24 double plays - just three shy of the school record. Led by SS Selena Hernandez, the Cougar infield turned a double play to close out the top of the third inning vs. Texas.
Prior to this week, the Cougars turned two double plays in the doubleheader against No. 13 Baylor (March 17), and one in each of the games vs. USF (March 22).
During the Hilton Houston Plaza Classic (Feb. 20-22), the Cougars turned three double plays against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, tied for the most double plays turned in a game.
Last season, the Cougars broke the single season record for most double plays turned (28).

To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season softball home games with a valid student ID.

While single-game tickets are available, fans are encouraged to save and purchase 2015 season tickets. General admission season tickets are just $75 for 28 home games ($2.68 per ticket).
