Williams Named American AOTW After Top Time

PROVIDENCE - Junior hurdler Issac Williams has been named American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season after posting the top time in the NCAA in the 110m hurdles at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
Williams set a new personal best by nearly three-tenths of a second after turning in a 13.56 in the invitational of the 110m hurdles, finishing fourth behind three professional athletes. The Willingboro, N.J., native's mark sits as the 15th best time in the world according to IAAF.org.
On the season, Williams has collected four American Athletic Conference athlete of the week awards after winning two each in the indoor and outdoor seasons. Cougars have now been honored with the weekly award nine times this season, having collected eight track athlete of the week awards and one field athlete of the week.
UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
The Cougars hit the road for their final multi-day event before conference when they travel to the Penn Relays Thursday April, 23-Saturday April, 25 in Philadelphia, Pa. Action for Houston begins on Thursday with the women's 400m hurdles at 9 a.m., CT.
