HOUSTON - No. 14 Houston Baseball will continue its road tour with a midweek showdown in Waco, Texas when the Cougars square off against Baylor on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on FOX Sports Southwest.

QUICK HITS ON HOUSTON
Houston, under fifth-year head coach Todd Whitting, owns an 19-9 record and is coming off a tough series loss to then-No. 6 UCF this past weekend as the Cougars won one of three in Orlando to open up American Athletic Conference play.
OFFENSIVE OUTLOOK
Houston is hitting .277 as a team and in 28 games, the Cougars are slugging .403 with 20 homeruns, 11 triples and 36 doubles. As a team, Houston has 138 walks this season and holds an on-base percentage of .384.
Leading the charge offensively is junior Chris Iriart with a .374 average with 37 hits, a team-high 26 runs scored and eight homeruns - the most by a Cougar since Chris Wallace in 2010. Iriart also is slugging .717 to rank second in the conference.
Junior Josh Vidales follows with a .369 clip and a team-best 38 hits. Vidales has reached base in 31 consecutive games, dating back to last season. Junior Jacob Campbell is hitting .304, while junior Kyle Survance is leading the league with 18 stolen bases and is fourth on the team with a .279 average.
Freshmen continue to shine in their debut season as Zac Taylor is hitting .269, while leading the team with 18 walks. Joining him is Connor Wong - who holds the team-lead with 25 RBI and has seven multi-RBI games to his name.
ON THE BUMP
Houston's pitching staff owns a 3.45 ERA, but is coming off of back-to-back weekends facing two of the nation's top power programs in New Mexico and UCF. In 253.0 innings, the Cougars have fanned 194 and walked just 71.
Five Cougars have multiple wins on the year, led by sophomore Friday starter Andrew Lantrip, who is 5-2 with a 2.84 ERA in seven starts. He has fanned 34 in 44.1 innings.
Freshman Seth Romero is 3-2 on the year with four saves and holds a 2.67 ERA. He has fanned 34 in 27.0 innings, including eight in 2.1 innings in the series vs. UCF.
Junior Kyle Dowdy earned the only win at UCF and is now leading the team in ERA at 2.05, while holding a 3-0 record. In 30.2 innings, Dowdy has fanned 15.
Recovering from an injury is junior Jake Lemoine - who is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in five starts for the Cougars, while senior David Longville is 1-2 with a 5.52 ERA in three starts and five appearances.
Out of the pen, the Cougars have relied heavily on a mixture of arms of late as freshman Aaron Fletcher (0-0, 2.16 ERA), junior Patrick Weigel (2-0, 3.30 ERA) and senior Aaron Garza (0-1, 5.28 ERA, 3 SV) have been consistent as relievers during the month of March.
QUICK HITS ON BAYLOR
Baylor is coming off a Big 12 series win against Oklahoma at Baylor Ballpark and will enter Tuesday's game with a 12-15 overall record and a 10-5 mark at home.
OFFENSIVE OUTLOOK
Baylor is hitting .261 as a team and slugging .338 with just four homeruns on the year. The Bears are 38-of-58 on the base paths. Leading the way offensively is Logan Brown with a .286 average, a team-high 28 hits, 20 runs scored and 11 RBI. He is also 13-of-19 in stolen bases.
ON THE BUMP
Baylor's pitching staff owns a 4.84 ERA and in 236.0 innings, the Bears have struck out 159 and walked 92, while allowing opponents to notch a .285 average against the arms.
Houston will face RHP Theron Kay, who is 3-1 with a 3.42 ERA. Kay has tossed 26.1 innings, walking 10 and striking out 13 and has appeared in six games, making five starts. LHP Daniel Costano has been Baylor's most consistent arms, holding a 1.82 ERA and a 2-3 record in six starts. He has fanned 26 in 39.2 innings.
Out of the pen, RHP Joe Kirkland (3.93 ERA, 3-1) leads the team with 12 appearances, while RHP Sean Spicer (3.52 ERA, 1-0) leads the team with three saves.

Note: The series will run Thur.-Sat. due to Easter Sunday.

With 31 home games set for 2015 at Cougar Field and a Top 10 nationally-ranked program representing the University of Houston, the Cougars are proud to announce that single-game tickets are now on sale at UHCougars.com/Basetickets.

Houston Baseball will offer variable pricing on its single-game tickets and group rates.
For the first time ever, the pricing breakdown will be determined whether or not you purchase your single-game tickets online vs. at the gate the day of the game as well as whether the Cougars play on a weekday (Monday-Thursday) or weekend (Friday-Sunday).

As noted in the table, variable pricing occurs. For weekday (Tuesday nights) online purchases, fans can take in a game, ranging from $5-$7 depending on the choice of seating. If you choose to purchase the day of the game as a Weekday Walk-Up, you will pay roughly $2 more than the online price ($7-$9).
Weekend (Friday-Sunday) online pricing will range from $6-$8 per game, while Weekend Walk-Up pricing the day of the game will run a fan anywhere from $8-$10.
GROUP RATES
Group rates are also available (as noted in the table). Weekday (Tuesday) and Weekend (Friday-Sunday) pricing occurs. Groups of 10-24 are set at $4-$5 per person, while groups of 25+ are $3-$4 per person.
With single-game tickets available now, Houston Baseball still encourages supporters to become Season Ticket members and enjoy the attractive pricing and rewards that come with up-front purchasing for the entire 2015 season.
HOW TO PURCHASE
To purchase tickets in advance, fans must visit the Athletics Ticket Stadium Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m., to 5:30 p.m. or you can call 713-GO-COOGS.
