Cougars Head to 88th Annual Texas Relays

HOUSTON - The Houston Cougar men's and women's track and field teams continue the outdoor season when they travel to the 2015 Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, to be held Wednesday March 25, through Saturday, March 28 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Action begins on Wednesday, March 25 with the women's heptathlon at 10:30 a.m., and the men's decathlon at 11 a.m. Four events of the heptathlon will be contested, including the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200m dash, while the decathlon will feature the first five events, including the 100m dash, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400m.
Day two kicks off at 10 a.m., with the conclusion of the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon in the morning session, and field events start on day two with the women's hammer throw at 12:30 p.m. Running events are split between afternoon and evening sessions, and the early session begins at 4:30 p.m., with the prelims of the 400m hurdles.
The women's javelin and the prelims of the 4x100m relay get the third day of the Texas Relays started, with action continuing throughout the day. The afternoon session begins with the finals of the men's and women's triple jump at 12:30 p.m., and running events beginning at 5:20 p.m., with the sprint medley relay.
The final day of the relays begins at noon Saturday, March 28 with the women's pole vault. Finals for the running events kick off at noon with the men's 4x200m relay and will run throughout the evening.
Houston kicked off the outdoor season at the rain-shortened TSU Relays on March 20-21. Action was halted due to inclement weather midway through the second day, but the Cougars still managed to impress in limited action.
Senior thrower Justine Price opened the outdoor season with a win in the discus after a throw of 49.50m gave her the 28th best throw in the NCAA. On the men's side, American Athletic Conference Indoor Shot Put champion Cameron Cornelius won the same event with a throw of 16.73m.

The Longhorn Network will provide 15 hours of video coverage over the four days of the Texas Relays. A tape delay of the multi-events will air Wednesday, March 25 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Thursday's coverage begins with another tape delay of the multi-events from 4:30-6 p.m., with the network switching to live content from 6-9 p.m.
Live coverage of Friday's action will be split into two sections. The first section will air from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with the second section airing from 7-9 p.m., and Saturday's coverage will run from 1-5 p.m.
