HOUSTON - Houston head coach Tom Herman announced Tuesday the addition of four student-athletes to the program's roster with two four-year transfers in quarterback Adam Schulz (Utah) and receiver Chance Allen (Oregon), along with junior college transfer tight end Rusty Clark (Pearl River CC) and true freshman receiver Devin Smith.
After spending three seasons, including a redshirt year, at Oregon, Allen returns close to home after a strong high school career at Fort Bend Elkins High School. In his two seasons of action with the Ducks, Allen (6-2, 200) pulled in five receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown with action in nine games in 2013 and five games in Oregon's march to the National Championship game in 2014.

At Fort Bend Elkins, Allen accumulated 126 career receptions for 1,920 yards and 22 touchdowns including 52 catches for 892 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior under head coach Dennis Brantley.

Utah's starter at the conclusion of the 2013 season, Schulz threw for 1,091 career yards and six touchdowns in eight career games with the Utes while rushing for 78 yards on 25 attempts. A native of Muskego, Wis., Schulz (6-2, 210) led Muskego High School to a 9-1 record in 2010 while setting school records for passing yards (745) and touchdowns (nine).
Clark arrives in Houston after two seasons at Pearl River Community College where he was selected to play in the 41st annual MACJC All-Star Classic on Dec. 4, finishing with two receptions for 31 yards in the contest. A native of Saucier, Miss., the towering tight end (6-7, 250) prepped at Harrison Central High School.
Smith, a 2014 graduate of John Curtis High School in River Ridge, La., helped the Patriots to three straight Louisiana State Championships and a 2012 National Championship. Smith (6-3, 180) was also a valuable member of a state-title winning track and field program, finishing fourth in the 800-meter run and running a leg on the 4x400-meter relay that finished first at the state meet.
