Celebrate Supers by Sending the Coogs Off Wednesday

HOUSTON - Come join the Spirit of Houston at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 at the Energy Research Park (5000 Gulf Freeway) for a celebratory SEND OFF for your No. 5-ranked Houston Baseball team as it embarks on its first Super Regional appearance since 2003 this weekend, taking on No. 9 Texas in Austin for a chance to advance to the NCAA College World Series.
The Cougars are set to meet the Longhorns for a best of three series, beginning Friday at 3 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
The two teams will meet for Game 2 of the series on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN and in an if-necessary game on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN.
After knocking off the overall No. 8 national seed in LSU on the road to capture the Baton Rouge Regional title, NCAA announced it had awarded the University of Texas the host site for the NCAA Super Regional round this weekend in Austin at UFCU Disch-Falk Field for a best-of-three series, featuring Houston and UT.
The winner of this Super Regional will advance to the NCAA College World Series, which is slated to begin Saturday, June 14, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.
TICKET INFORMATION
Limited amount of tickets in the Houston section remain. An e-mail will be sent to Cougar Pride members Tuesday evening with a deadline of Wednesday at 12 p.m. to request tickets. At 12 p.m. tickets will be allocated based on the Cougar Pride Priority Point System.
WATCH PARTY INFORMATION
Join Houston fans all weekend long as Official UHAA (Houston Alumni Association) Watch Parties are set to take place at Lucky's Pub in The Heights for every Houston Baseball Super Regional game.
Watch parties will begin two hours before first pitch on each game day for the Cougars, beginning with Friday's game (3 p.m. first pitch - 1 p.m. watch party start).

A LOOK AT THE FIELD OF 16
The Cougars are one of just 16 remaining teams left after Regional play concluded across the nation this past weekend. Only six No. 1 seeds moved on, while Houston joined Texas, Texas Tech, Maryland as No. 2 seeds that advanced, while No. 3 UC Irvine, Stanford, Pepperdine and Kennesaw State joined No. 4 seed College of Charleston.

A LOOK AT HOUSTON IN THE POSTSEASON
Houston will make its fourth Super Regional appearance in the history of the program and first since 2003. The Cougars are set to continue a banner season that features a 48-16 overall record - tying for the most wins in a single season (2002, 2000). The Cougars captured their first NCAA Regional title since 2003 and made its 19th Regional appearance in the program's storied history - last coming in 2008.
2014 will mark the second time Houston met Texas in Austin for a Super Regional, which came back in 2002. The Cougars and Longhorns met once this season with Texas edging Houston 3-2 on March 1 at Minute Maid Park during the Houston College Classic.
