Softball Signs Kayla Maxwell

HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball program announced the signing of Kayla Maxwell to a national letter of intent on Tuesday afternoon. Maxwell will be the fifth member of the 2014-15 recruiting class for the Cougars.
Maxwell comes to Houston from Alonso High School in Tampa, Fla. As a senior in the circle this season, Maxwell has compiled a 19-3 record and a 1.15 earned run average while striking out 82 batters in 123.2 innings pitched.
"I am excited about Kayla," head coach Kyla Holas said. "She comes from a great pitching coach and brings a ton of work ethic with her. I think she will be a great compliment to the staff and look forward to seeing her passion on the mound in Cougar red."
Maxwell was a member of the 2012 Adidas Futures and has currently helped lead her high school team to a top-15 ranking in the state.
Maxwell joins, Kendall Brown, Kaylin Crumpton, Mariah Garcia and De'Zha Scott as the fifth member of the Cougars 2014-15 recruiting class.
