HOUSTON - Junior Jaime Edwards drew a bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning and Houston Softball walked off with a 7-6 win over Temple to complete the series sweep on Sunday. Houston improved to 16-10 on the year and begins American Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 mark.

The game was a back-and-forth contest seeing six lead changes before the Cougars enjoyed their second walk-off win of the year. Houston scored a run in the first frame and added two pairs in the second and third only to see Temple (7-14, 0-3) match their success. The Owls scored in each of their first five turns at bat to hold a 6-5 lead before the seventh.

Sophomore Katie St. Pierre led off the seventh with a single and scored on Tiffani McKnight's sacrifice fly, her third RBI of the game. A single from Selena Hernandez and an intentional walk to Haley Outon loaded the bases for Edwards to draw her third walk of the game.

The Cougars used back-to-back home runs by Kendra Cullum and McKnight in the third inning for the final run scoring from the home team until the last inning. McKnight's first RBI of the game came in the first off a single to plate Hernandez.

The Houston pitching staff sent all three Cougars to the circle and Diedre Outon emerged with her second win (7-5) of the series. Outon threw 2.2 innings of shutout relief and lowered her ERA to 2.17 on the year.
