PROVIDENCE, R.I.--- Senior center Yasmeen Thompson has been named to the American Athletic Conference honor roll for a second consecutive week, after posting back-to-back big performances at USF and at UCF last Wednesday and Saturday.
The Philadelphia, Pa. native averaged 10.5 points and nine rebounds per contest last week, as she recorded a season-high tying 15 points and notched a season-best equaling four steals on Saturday vs. UCF. In addition, Thompson connected on 5-of-8 field goal attempts, which also ties a season high.
On Wednesday, Thompson made her presence felt at the free throw line, knocking down all four of her free throw attempts, while also grabbing a team-high nine rebounds vs. USF.
This marks the third time a Cougar player has received weekly conference honors, as Te'onna Campbell made the honor roll back on Dec. 30, and Thompson has now qualified for the award in back-to-back weeks.
Thompson will aim to keep her strong play going when the Cougars host Temple, Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. CT inside Hofheinz Pavilion.
