ROOT Sports Southwest to Feature Houston Athletics

HOUSTON - With the launch of ROOT Sports Southwest, The Houston Basketball Coaches' Show featuring Houston Men's Basketball head coach Kelvin Sampson and Houston Women's Basketball head coach Ronald Hughey is set to debut on the network in January. Should either team advance to the NCAA Tournament, an NCAA March Madness Preview Show will air on ROOT Sports Southwest.
In addition to the Basketball Coaches' Show, The Houston Football Insider will make its debut appearance on the network Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Hosted by the Voice of the Cougars, Kevin Eschenfelder, the debut episode will re-air five times throughout the following week.
The second episode of the Houston Football Insider on ROOT Sports Southwest will air on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 5:30 p.m. with seven re-airs in the following week. The final regular season edition of Houston Football Insider will run on Dec. 3 with times to be announced.
Pending a Houston Football bowl invitation, ROOT Sports Southwest will also air a Houston Football Bowl Preview Show.
Houston fans can find ROOT Sports Southwest on AT&T U-verse channels 758 in SD and 1758 in HD, on DIRECTV channel 674 and on Comcast channels 39 in SD and 639 in HD. The new network's programming schedule is available on www.rootsports.com.
In addition to ROOT Sports Southwest, DIRECTV also operates three other ROOT Sports networks in Pittsburgh, Denver and Seattle.

Fans can take the first step toward the 2014-15 Houston Women's Basketball season by placing deposits with the Athletics Ticket Office at UHCougars.com or by clicking here . The deposit is not a fee and will go toward the cost of season tickets.
Under Hughey's leadership, the Cougars will play 11 contests against teams who qualified for NCAA postseason play a year ago with eight of those against American Athletic Conference rivals.
To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Stadium Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m., to 5:30 p.m.
All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular season Women's Basketball home games with a valid student ID.
