Cougars Set for American Media Day

HOUSTON - With the 2014-15 season rapidly approaching, the University of Houston women's basketball team will give fans and media another preview of the upcoming campaign at American Athletic Conference Basketball Media Day, to be held on Thursday, October 30 at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan. Head Coach Ronald Hughey and juniors Marche' Amerson and Jessieka Palmer will represent the Cougars at the event.
Media Day begins at 8 a.m. CT with opening remarks from Commissioner Mike Aresco, followed by a Head Coaches panel discussion that includes Hughey and the remaining 10 league coaches.
Following the panel discussion, Hughey, Amerson and Palmer will participate in various interviews with ESPN, the American Digital Network and several national media outlets.
The American Digital Network will provide live coverage of the day's events, beginning at 8 a.m. CT. Fans can follow the action on their desktop, mobile and tablet devices by clicking here.
The American Athletic Conference will produce content throughout the day, including videos and social media updates, which can be accessed at their Media Day Hub. Fans on Twitter can also track the event by following the @UHCougarWBB and @American_WBB accounts and by utilizing the hashtag #AmericanRising.
Houston opens the 2014-15 season with an exhibition game against Huston-Tillotson on Sunday, November 9. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.

Fans can take the first step toward the 2014-15 Houston Women's Basketball season by placing deposits with the Athletics Ticket Office at UHCougars.com or by clicking here . The deposit is not a fee and will go toward the cost of season tickets.
Under Hughey's leadership, the Cougars will play 11 contests against teams who qualified for NCAA postseason play a year ago with eight of those from American Athletic Conference rivals.
To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Stadium Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m., to 5:30 p.m.
All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season Women's Basketball home games with a valid student ID.
