Houston Heads To Florida For Conference Play

Houston (1-3-4, 0-1-0) will look to rebound in conference play after its comeback bid in the American Athletic Conference opener fell just short in a 3-2 loss to SMU. Junior defender Meghan Brascia scored her first career goal and junior forward Lexa Green added her team-leading third goal of the season in the effort.

USF (5-5-1, 0-2-0) dropped each of its American Athletic Conference opening weekend games to Tulsa (3-2, 2 OT) and Memphis (1-0). The Bulls return home this week for a pair of games against Houston and SMU.
Sophomore forward Leticia Skeete leads USF in goals (4) and is tied for the team lead in points with eight. Junior midfielder Olivia Chance also has eight points and is tied for the team lead in assists with two. Freshmen Thordis Aikman and Kat Elliot have split time in goal for USF this season. Aikman (3-3-0) has allowed seven goals in 587:34 minutes with three shutouts, while Elliott (2-2-1) has allowed six goals in 445:49 minutes.

No. 22 UCF (9-2-0, 2-0-0) enters the week riding a six-game winning streak after knocking off Memphis (2-1) and Tulsa (4-1) in the opening weekend of American Athletic Conference play. The Knights have not lost since Sept. 7 (at Georgia 1-0) and have won eight of their last nine contests.
Senior forward and 2013 American Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Offensive Player Tatiana Coleman leads UCF in goals (7), assists (6) and points (20), and has collected three of the Knights nine game-winning goals. Coleman is currently in the top-5 in every major statistical category in the conference.
Junior goalkeeper Connie Organ has seen all but 18 minutes of action between the pipes for UCF this season compiling a 9-2-0 record and allowing just seven goals on 29 chances. Organ's goals against average (0.64) is second in the conference and she has played a role in each of the team's six shutouts this season.
