LAST TIME OUT
Houston returns to action after a 1-2 weekend at No. 6 Rice in the Silver Glove Series. The Cougars earned an 11-6 win last Friday evening over the Owls to snap a 16-game skid dating back to May 1, 2009 vs. Rice. Houston fell in the final two contests at Reckling Park despite an impressive pitching performance by senior LHP Jordan Lewis on Saturday. Lewis managed to hold the Owls to just three hits, two of which were infield singles, over 8.0 innings with six strikeouts, but the Cougars would eventually fall 4-3 in extra innings.
A LOOK AT HOUSTON
Not having played a midweek game this week, Houston returns to action with an overall record of 16-28-1 and a 4-13-1 mark in C-USA play. The Cougars are hitting .268 as a team and own a .345 on-base percentage. Sophomore Jonathan Davis leads the offensive attack with a .319 clip and a .365 average in conference play. Following the designated hitter is senior John Cannon and junior Jacob Lueneburg with .313 and .310 averages, respectively. Junior Chase Jensen leads the team with 30 RBI, while sophomore Landon Appling has scored a team-high 25 runs and belted three homeruns.
ON THE BUMP FOR HOUSTON
Houston has relied on the arms of RHP Austin Pruitt (3.55,3-3,11 GS,76.0 IP, 46 K) and LHP Jordan Lewis (5.29,3-6,10 GS, 51.0 IP, 32 K), who have both put together several solid starts of late. The duo leads the team with three wins each and 11 and 10 starts, respectively. As of now, Houston has not confirmed its rotation for the weekend. Out of the pen this season, senior Codey Morehouse (1-2, 3.38) and sophomore Chase Wellbrock (3-2, 4.08) have provided the Cougars with needed innings and effective work.
A LOOK AT TULANE
Tulane enters the weekend series on a four-game win streak, having swept C-USA foe Southern Miss last weekend in New Orleans and earning a 7-3 win over UL-Lafayette in non-conference action on Tuesday. The Green Wave is 33-16 overall and 10-8 in conference play, while sitting in fourth place among the C-USA standings this week behind UCF, Rice, and East Carolina.
As a team, Tulane is hitting .313, led by Nick Schneeberger's .370 average. Also notching a clip above .340 is Brennan Middleton (.364) and Sean Potkay (.346). Jeremy Schafer leads the team with 45 RBI and nine homeruns.

Friday - RHP Andrew Reeves (2.91, 2-1, 6 GS, 34.0 IP, 19 K)
Saturday - LHP David Napoli (2.53, 6-2, 9 GS, 74.2 IP, 48 K)
