Women's Tennis Set to Host No. 31 Tulsa

HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's tennis team will play host to defending Conference USA champion and 31st-ranked Tulsa at 10 a.m., Saturday at John E. Hoff Courts.
The Cougars (9-6, 0-1) enter Saturday's match looking to extend their winning streak to four games after defeating Prairie View A&M and Texas State last week. Houston is 6-2 at home this season with both losses coming in 4-3 fashion.
Junior Maja Kazimieruk has reeled off six-straight singles victories to tie for the team lead with 11 wins with senior Giorgia Pozzan.
In doubles play, Laura Ring has won eight of nine matches this season while teaming up with freshman Liselot Koenen for a 7-1 mark at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
Tulsa (13-3, 1-0) features two nationally ranked players in No. 75 Samantha Vickers and No. 83 Anastasia Erofeeva while the doubles tandem of Erofeeva and Ewa Svatkowska is currently tabbed No. 69 in the country. As a team, the Golden Hurricane have been ranked as high as No. 19 this season.
Saturday's match has been designed as Tennis Club Day, where groups will have an opportunity to play on the court, get autographs from the Cougars and win a UH Price Pack.
