Nampa, ID - The University of Houston track and field program concluded its 2012 indoor season on Saturday at the Jackson's Indoor Track in Nampa, Ida., as Errol Nolan took sixth in the men's 400m dash and Megan Frausto placed 12th in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Nolan ran a time of 46.50 in the final round of the 400m dash. His fastest time of the season, and third-best time nationally entering the meet was 46.12. Tony McQuay of Florida took gold with his time of 45.77.
"This weekend was a learning experience," Nolan said. "I allowed myself to be boxed in, in result, I could not run my race how I wanted. Now, I'm just focused on the outdoor season, where that mistake will not happen again."
Frausto tallied 3,954 points in the women's pentathlon on Saturday, just 46 points off of her season and career best mark of 4,000. Her strongest events were the long jump, where she jumped 19-3.50 and the 800m, where she ran a time of 2:19.60.
"I really enjoyed this experience and learned a lot," Frausto said. "I feel like I should have done better in the shot (put) and high jump, but I'm very pleased with my long jump results."
