Tennis Wraps Up Day Two of USTA/ITA Regional

WACO, Texas - Liselot Koenen highlighted day two of the USTA/ITA Regional Championship for the University of Houston Women's Tennis team on Saturday with two victories in the singles consolation draw at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Koenen, a sophomore from St. Charles, Ill., opened play in the consolation draw with a 6-4, 6-4 win over UTPA's Didi Fatchikova. Following a second-round bye, Koenen's opponent from TCU withdrew due to injury, setting up a fourth round matchup with UTSA's Isabelle Jonsson on Sunday.
Elena Kordolaimi returned to action in the main draw of the singles bracket, falling to sixth-seeded Sun Wen of Texas A&M in the round of 32 by a score of 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles play, Kordolaimi and Dionne Sanders dropped an 8-4 decision to Texas Tech's top-seeded duo of Adams and Kilgo in the round of 32.
