HOUSTON - University of Houston sophomore sprinter Errol Nolan has been named Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week as the league office announced Tuesday. This is the second time this this year Nolan has received this honor (Jan. 25).
Nolan competed at the New Balance Invitational this past Saturday and won the 400m dash in a school-record 46.46 time. That time is the fifth-fastest among the entire NCAA this year as of to date, and the fastest among C-USA.
In addition to the school record in the 400m, Nolan helped set another school record earlier this year as he was the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay who raced into the record books at 3:08.52.
The Rosenberg, Texas, native has claimed first place in three out of the four races he has competed in this year.
Ganna Demydova of Southern Miss was the C-USA Female Athlete of the Week.
