Julia Lonnegren Named C-USA Diver of the Week

HOUSTON - University of Houston's diver Julia Lonnegrenhas been named the Conference USA Diver of the Week for Oct. 18. The junior dominated the diving competition in Boston as she won all four events over the weekend.
At Boston University on Friday, the Forolund, Sweden native scored 309.60 in the 1M and 337.65 in the 3M to help head coach Augie Buschget the win in his coaching debut.
The Cougars traveled to Boston College on Saturday for a tri-meet against Boston College and Northeastern University and Lonnegren came away with two more victories in the 1M (314.80) and the 3M (309.60).
Houston improved to 3-0 on the season after winning all the meets this weekend. The Cougar divers finished 1-2-3 in all four events as well.
This is the third time Lonnegren has been named C-USA Diver of the Week (Feb 2, 2010; Jan. 19, 2011 ). Lonnegren was also named the C-USA Freshman Diver of the Year in 2010.

The Cougars host their first home meet this Friday as they have a dual meet with Miami (Fla.) at 5 p.m. inside the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.
USA Diving's Pan American Games team will train at the University of Houston's Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium from October 20-22 before heading to Guadalajara, Mexico. The diving events at the Pan Am Games are scheduled for October 26-29.
