Pair of Women's Basketball Games to Air on FSN

HOUSTON - Two University of Houston women's basketball games will be televised regionally on Fox Sports Net for the upcoming 2011-12 season, the Conference USA office announced Wednesday.
Houston will host cross-town rival Rice on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m., at Hofheinz Pavilion, while also playing host to UCF on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 12 p.m. Both teams reached the postseason a year ago and are picked in the top three of the C-USA Preseason Poll.
Both televised matchups were two of the most exciting contests in league play last season, as Houston used dramatic comebacks in both games en route to a perfect record in C-USA play.
After cruising past Rice in the first meeting last season at Hofheinz, the Cougars found themselves down by 19 points in the first half at Tudor Fieldhouse before relying on a 21-7 run in the final nine minutes of the game to overtake the Owls and improve to 15-0 in conference play.
Earlier in the season, the Cougars traveled to Orlando to face UCF, and trailed by three with two Knight free-throws coming and less than a minute remaining. However, Houston managed to score the final six points to pull out the victory for their seventh-straight win in league action.
The Cougars have won four of their last six televised contests dating back to the 2009-10 season and three of the last four at Hofheinz Pavilion.
Houston officially kicks off the 2011-12 season against New Mexico State on Nov. 11 at Hofheinz Pavilion.
TICKET INFORMATION
Women's basketball season tickets can be purchased starting at only $75. These general admission season tickets are part of a Flex Plan. Fans can use one ticket per game, invite 16 friends to come out to a single game or any combination in between.
Fans can also get closer to the action by purchasing season floor seats for only $200.
Fans have several options when ordering their basketball tickets. They can visit the Athletics Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center near the UH Fan Shop, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
