HOUSTON - Houston soccer returns to the pitch this weekend with the second weekend of Conference USA action ready to kickoff. Houston won both of their games last weekend to begin C-USA play with a 2-0 record and enter this weekend's competition off to the best start in program history at 7-2-1.
Houston is on a four-game winning streak and have maintained a +11 goal differential during that streak.
The Cougars have outscored their opponents by a 23-5 margin this year while they have directed the ball on goal three times more than their opposition (98 to 32).
COLORADO COLLEGE
The Cougars hold a 0-4-0 record against the CC Tigers. In 2009, the Tigers beat the Cougars 2-0 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Tigers' scoring attack is lead by Tiffany Brown and Brittney Lyman, each with four goals scored and two assists.
Five of Colorado College's matches have gone into overtime with the Tigers earning one victory and earning draws in the remainder.
UTEP
Against UTEP, Houston has compiled a 2-5-0 record in the series history. The Miners took a 1-0 decision last year after a goal in the 72nd minute proved to be the difference.
UTEP has outscored their opponents 38 to 9 this season. Brittany Kindzierski and Katie Dorman lead the attack with ten and eight goals, respectively.
