Conference USA Softball Championship Bracket to be Announced Sunday

HOUSTON - As the regular season comes to a close this weekend, the University of Houston softball fans anxiously await the 2010 Conference USA Softball Championship bracket announcement. Luckily, UH fans can go ahead and mark the Cougars date and time on their calendars because UH is guaranteed the 7 p.m. slot, regardless of seeding, on Thursday, May 13 at Cougar Softball Stadium.
Houston concluded conference play last weekend against Marshall in Huntington, W.Va., when the team swept the Saturday doubleheader and tied Sunday's matchup due to inclement weather, ending with a 12-10-1 record. As the last league team to take a bye weekend, the Cougars will travel to Waco, Texas for a make-up twin bill against Baylor this Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m.

Thursday, May 13
Game One (No. 1 Seed vs. No. 8 Seed) - 11 a.m.
Game Two (No. 4 Seed vs. No. 5 Seed) - 1:30 p.m.
Game Three (No. 2 Seed vs. No. 7 Seed) - 4:30 p.m.
Game Four (No. 3 Seed vs. No. 6 Seed) - 7 p.m.
Note: Because Houston is the hosting school, they are guaranteed the 7 p.m. slot, regardless of seeding. Times will remain the same but the game order may be switched based on Houston's seed.
Friday, May 14
Semifinal Game 1 - 3 p.m.
Semifinal Game 2 - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 15

Parking
Parking for the 2010 Conference USA Softball Championship is provided free of charge in the parking lot next to the facility on Elgin Street. Additional parking can be found at lots on the corner of Elgin and Cullen Boulevard, as well as the Robertson Stadium parking lot on the corner of Elgin and Scott Streets.

From 45 South at Cullen Blvd: Take a right on Elgin Street and the Cougar Softball Stadium is on the left before Scott Street.
From 45 South at Scott Street: Take a left on Elgin Street and the Cougar Softball Stadium is on the right hand corner of Scott and Elgin Streets.
Cougars Softball Stadium
The much-anticipated addition to Cougar Softball, Houston's youngest intercollegiate athletic program, was the completion of Cougar Softball Stadium prior to the 2002 season. The $2.4 million complex sports home and visitors locker rooms, laundry facilities and a press box, which includes separate radio and television booths. The NCAA-regulation field has a top-quality infield and outfield, and up to 1,200 softball fans are treated to comfortable seating, a concessions area and accessible parking.
Located next to the Tom Tellez Track Complex on the corner of Scott and Elgin Streets on the UH campus, Cougar Softball Stadium was made possible through the generous donation of UH alumni John and Rebecca Moores.
