Men's Basketball Welcomes Fabyon Harris to Program

HOUSTON - University of Houston head coach James Dickey and his staff announced the signing of point guard Fabyon Harris to a National Letter of Intent on Sunday.
A 5-foot-9, 160-pound point guard, Harris joins the Cougar program out of Chicago's Hyde Park Academy. As a senior, he averaged 26.0 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals per game on the way to being named an ESPNChicago.com All-Area selection.
"Fabyon is a very good ball-handler with quickness, speed and athleticism. He is a winner who defends and plays hard with toughness," Dickey said. "He gets his teammates involved and can also score. We are excited about Fabyon being a Cougar."
Harris is described by some recruiting services as a "scorer", "playmaker", "outstanding defender" and "leader".
Harris had games of 37, 34 and 29 points during the season and was named to the Centralia Holiday All-Tournament Team. He also finished with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 68-56 win against Bartlett High during the Tomcat Hoopfest in mid-January. His performance was even more sweet as it came on his 19th birthday.
He was an All-City and All-Conference First-Team honoree and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Red Central Conference.
Harris chose Houston over DePaul, Cincinnati and SMU.
Harris became the fourth signee of Dickey and his staff, which joined the Cougar program in early April. He joined Navarro Junior College guard Darian Thibodeaux, Midland Junior College forward Jonathon Simmons and Second Baptist High forward Mikhail McLean.
