Softball Plays No. 19 Texas A&M on Wednesday

HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team continues its six-game road stand when the Cougars travel to College Station Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. matchup against the No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies.
Houston (7-8) looks to improve on its all-time series record against the Aggies (12-3), which stands at 3-14. Last year, the team went 0-2 against Texas A&M, falling 3-4 in eight innings on Feb. 21 when the Aggies were ranked No.19 and 2-6 on March 4 when they were No. 17. The last time Houston pulled out a win against Texas A&M was an 8-1 decision on March 19, 2007.
Freshman Meagan May leads the Aggies with a .404 batting average, 19 hits, five home runs, 19 RBI and .894 slugging percentage. For the Cougars, freshman Ashleigh Jones leads the Cougars, batting .333, while Melissa Gregson tops the home run count with four and RBI with 11.

A Look Ahead
Houston returns home for the Fourth Annual Striking Out Breast Cancer Game on March 10 at 5 p.m. when the team faces off against Southern for the third time in two weeks. The Cougars will wear pink jerseys and helmets, which can be bid on along with other gifts in the silent auction that takes place prior to and during the games. Season Tickets
Season tickets are now on sale. A softball package is only $75 and is good for all 18 home games. The tickets also are part of a flexible ticket package that is good for any game. With the flexible ticket package, fans are given the opportunity to either use one ticket for each home game or multiple tickets to a few games.
