Twelve Cougar Student-Athletes to Graduate at Semester Break

The University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will graduate 12 student-athletes on Friday in the December graduation period.
Matt Farrington, P, baseball (management) -- Completed career in 2006 and was drafted by the San Diego Padres as a senior. The four-year letterwinner was a standout pitcher with a 15-11 record and 130 strikeouts. He returned to UH to finish his degree and graduates today with a bachelor's in business administration/management.
Case Keenum, QB, football (kinesiology/sports administration) -- Keenum was a fifth-year senior in 2010 and completed this season as the UH record holder in passing yards, total offense, passing touchdowns, attempts and completions. He also holds Houston's single-season records for completions, attempts, passing yards and total offense. He finished eighth in the 2009 Heisman Trophy voting and was the 2009 Conference USA Player of the Year. In 2009, he was named to eight All-America teams and was a finalist the Davey O'Brien national quarterback award. Keenum was a three-time Conference USA Commissioner's Honor selection. He walks today with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology/sports administration.
Andre Kohn, RB, football (consumer sciences and merchandising) -- Was forced to cut his athletic career early with a knee injury, but remained a member of the program as an assistant in the video department. In 2007 and 2008, he played in 23 games, averaged 4.4 yards per carry and scored five touchdowns. He is completing his bachelor's degree in consumer sciences and merchandising.
Jackie Lindsey, golf (marketing) -- Completed his eligibility in 2010 as a four-year letterwinner on the Houston golf team. He played in 39 events and 106 rounds of golf. Lindsey had his best season as a junior with a 74.73 stroke average and a 17th-place finish at the Conference USA Championships. He finished one place higher at the 2010 league championships. He will conclude his time at UH with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Megan Morton, G, women's basketball (political science) -- Morton is in the middle of her senior year on the women's basketball team. She has played in 55 career games and has scored 117 points. Morton was on the 2008 Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. She will get a degree in political science.
Matt Nicholson, LB, football (kinesiology/sports administration) -- Nicholson's collegiate career ended four games short of completion, but in his 41 games he racked up 173 tackles, 12.5 for loss and two interceptions. He was a two-time team captain and his hard work in the offseason was rewarded twice as he was named the Tom Wilson Weight Room MVP. He will receive his bachelor's degree in kinesiology/sports administration.
Kiara Pulliam, women's track (kinesiology/exercise science) -- Pulliam is a standout shot putter for the UH track and field team earning trips to the 2008 and 2010 NCAA Regionals. She placed third in the event at both the Indoor and Outdoor Conference USA Championships. She will graduate with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology/exercise science.
Brittney Scott, G, women's basketball (health) -- Scott is a three-year starter for the Cougars and has scored 1,125 points in her career. She has started 68 consecutive games and is coming off an All-Conference year in 2010. Scott will not attend the graduation festivities as her team is set to play three games at the Duel in the Desert Tournament in Las Vegas. She is earning her bachelor's degree in health.
Wesley Scourten, TE, football (kinesiology/sports administration) -- Scourten has made a name for himself as a block specialist, knocking down a school record eight kicks during his UH career. His blocks kept 19 points off the board for Cougar opponents earning him 2010 UH Football Special Teams Player of the Year. He leaves Houston with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology/sports administration.
Jordan Shoemaker, OL, football (kinesiology/sports administration) -- A three-year starter on the UH offensive line, Shoemaker helped the Cougars to three-consecutive years of being ranked in the top-15 in total offense, including the nation's top-rated offense in 2009. He played in 44 career games and has earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology/sports administration.
Brittani Williams, women's track (kinesiology/sports administration) -- Williams is a heptathlete and pentathlete on the UH track and field team. She has been an NCAA Regional Qualifier for three straight years, with a trip to the 2009 Championships in the javelin. She finished seventh at the Conference USA Championships in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Williams has twice been named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned the 2008 Commissioners Academic Medal. She graduates with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology/sports administration.
