Houston Tennis Completes Day Three in Waco

WACO, Texas - Senior Joanna Kacprzyk highlighted play for the University of Houston women's tennis team on Sunday at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional in Waco, advancing to the quarterfinal round of the singles consolation draw.
Kacprzyk began the day with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory over Lamar's Alicia Porte, and downed Natalia Mayuk of UT Arlington by a score of 3-6, 6-2, 10-7 in the fourth round. Kacprzyk, who ran up her season record to an impressive 7-3 mark, will face North Texas' Paula Dinuta in the quarterfinals at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
Giorgia Pozzan and Bryony Hunter both represented Houston in the single main draw's round of 32, as Pozzan fell to top-seeded Aeriel Ellis of Texas, 6-3, 6-3, and Hunter dropped a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 decision to Carolina Starck of Texas Tech.
Hunter and Pozzan also ended their run in doubles action, falling to the Texas Tech tandem of Samantha Adams and Kelsy Garland by a score of 8-5 in the round of 16.
