Hunter and Pozzan Advance on Rain-Shortened Day

WACO, Texas - The University of Houston doubles duo of Bryony Hunter and Giorgia Pozzan highlighted play on Saturday at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional in Waco, Texas, with a victory to advance to the main draw's round of 16. All singles play was pushed to Sunday because of inclement weather in the area.
The Cougar tandem of Hunter and Pozzan improved to 6-1 on the season with an 8-2 victory over Sam Houston State's Imke Jagau and Natalie Petaia. The UH duo will face Texas Tech's Samantha Adams and Kelsy Garland at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Both Hunter and Pozzan are still in contention in the round of 32 of the singles main draw, while Joanna Kacprzyk will compete in the third round of the singles consolation draw on Sunday.
