Baseball Preview: Week Six

HOUSTON - The University of Houston baseball team will host a mid-week game against Louisiana Lafayette on Tuesday before traveling to Tulane for their second Conference USA series.
Houston will host a rematch with the Ragin' Cajuns at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Cougar Field. On March 3, the Cougars traveled to Lafayette for a mid-week game, losing 6-1. Despite the loss, Houston out hit the Ragin' Cajuns eight to four.
Louisiana Lafayette enters Tuesday's game with a 10-9-1 record.
Following the mid-week game, Houston will take to the road for a three-game series against Tulane at Turchin Stadium. Friday's game is slated for a 6 p.m. start. The series will continue on Saturday at 2 p.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Houston is 25-21 all-time against the Green Wave after going 2-1 in their series last season.
Tulane enters the series with a 14-9 record, including a sweep of Northern Colorado last weekend. They will open league play against the Cougars this weekend.
The Cougars went 3-2 last week, with wins over No. 29 Lamar and two against UAB. Houston won their Conference USA series opener 2-1 over the Blazers. In the second game of the Silver Glove series, UH fell to Rice 8-1. Houston currently sits tied for second in league standings.
For his performance last week, in guiding the Cougars to two of their wins, junior Donnie Joseph was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week. The weekly award was the first of his career.

LOOKING AHEAD
Next week, Houston will play a mid-week game at UTSA on April 1 before hosting Texas- Pan American in a three-game series on April 3-5.
