Pozdniakova Named C-USA Diver of the Week

HOUSTON - University of Houston senior diver Anastasia Pozdniakova was named the Conference USA Diver of the Week as announced by the conference office.
Pozdniakova won the award after taking top honors in both the 1- and 3-meter events at the Houston Cougar Classic this past weekend. She has now won both diving events in all four meets this season.
The Russia native helped guide the Cougars to a fourth-place finish at the Cougar Classic over the weekend. She posted a score of 347.45 in the 1-meter event and a score of 364.40 in the 3-meter event.
This is Pozdniakova's second Diver of the Week award this season and the 16th of her career.
Angela Wo of Rice took home Swimmer of the Week honors.
The Houston swimming and diving team will next be in action Jan. 22 when they travel to North Texas for a dual.
