Volleyball Falls to Tulsa, 3-0

HOUSTON - The University of Houston volleyball team was swept 3-0 (21-25, 14-25, 12-25) by Tulsa Friday night at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Okla.
With the loss, Houston falls to 7-18 on the season and 4-6 in Conference USA play. Tulsa moves to 18-5 and 7-2.
Freshman Jasmine Terry led UH with seven kills, while junior Marluci Toazzi added six kills. Freshman Tara Roenicke paced the team with 19 assists and junior Amanda Carson's 11 digs marked a team high.
The first set proved to be the closest of the match. The Cougars battled to a 14-14 tie after trailing six, 12-6. The two teams battled back and forth before the Golden Hurricane broke a 17-17 tie and went on a take a 21-19 lead, en route to the first set win, 25-21.
The momentum remained in Tulsa's court for the remainder of the match as they went on to win the remaining two sets, while holding the Cougars' point total to less than 15.
Houston falls to 0-2 this season against Tulsa after dropping a five-set match on Oct. 11 at the Athletics/Alumni Center. The all-time series now stands at 5-5.
