Jessica Zavalza Named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week

HOUSTON - Jessica Zavalza was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, following her two goal performance against Louisiana-Lafayette last weekend.
It is the first career weekly award for the freshman striker and the first offensive player of the week award for a UH player since Sophia Mundy received the honor in 2006.
Zavalza tallied both Houston scores in the Cougar's 2-0 win over the Ragin' Cajuns on Friday. She now leads the club with three goals scored and six points just three games into her collegiate career.
Zavalza's goal in the 6th minute on Friday was her second game-winner in her last two games.
Houston (3-1-0), winners of its past three games, opens a tough four-game road trip where the Cougars will face No. 8 Texas, LSU, Baylor and Texas State.
