Baseball Postponed at C-USA Championship

The wet weather forced the postponement of all but one game on Thursday. In the first contest of the day, No. 5 seed East Carolina eliminated No. 1 Rice with a 4-3 win. However, rain moved into the area after that game and continued for the rest of the day.
No. 3 Tulane will face No. 7 UCF at 9 a.m., Friday with the Cougars-UAB game to follow. No. 2 Southern Miss meets No. 6 Marshall at 4 p.m., and East Carolina faces the loser of the Houston-UAB game at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the Tulane-UCF winner will face the Marshall-Southern Miss loser at 9 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., the Houston-UAB winner will meet the winner from the loser's bracket.
Game 12 of the Championship will be played at 4 p.m., Saturday, with Game 13 - an if necessary game - scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The time for Game 14 is TBA with the Championship game still scheduled for 1 p.m., Sunday.
Fans should note that the schedule and all game times are tentative and contingent upon the weather.
This marks just the second time in the 13-year history of the C-USA Championship that a game was not able to be completed on its scheduled day. In 2005, the championship game was not able to be played due to torrential storms and lightning in the Hattiesburg, Mississippi area.
