NCAA Houston Softball Regional Postgame Notes

Washington
• Washington is now 61-27 in NCAA Tournament action, including 43-9 in regional play
• They are also 3-4 in Super Regional games and 15-14 in the WCWS.
• The Huskies are 15-7 (.682) in the postseason under Heather Tarr.
• Heather Tarr's career record is 141-89-1 (.610).
• The Huskies have won 14-straight regional openers and are 14-1 all-time in those games.
• Washington's three stolen bases vs. Texas were their most since an April 3 game at UCLA.
• They have stolen at least three bases 11 times in 2008.
• Washington has reached double-digits in hits in two of its last three games.
• In all, the Huskies have recorded at least 10 hits in 16 games.
• Washington drew four walks, their most in the last eight games.
• The Huskies left at least 10 runners on for just the fourth time this season.
• Ashlyn Watson matched her career-high with three hits, which she set earlier this year vs. Stanford on April 5.
• Alicia Blake has had at least two hits in three of the past four games.
• Blake has hit safely in 13 of the past 16 games, and is leading the Huskies with a .367 average over that span (18-for-49).
Texas
• Texas is making its ninth NCAA Regional appearance in its
12-year softball history.
• The Longhorns loss moves UT to 18-9 all-time in NCAA Regional
play.
• Junior first baseman Desiree Williams' walk in the first
inning was her 33rd of the year and moved her into a second place tie
for most walks in a single-season at Texas. Williams equaled her own
walk total (33) from 2005.
• Sophomore shortstop Loryn Johnson's solo homer in the third
was her 12th of the season, tying her with teammates Desiree Williams
(12, 2006) and Tallie Thrasher (12, 2007) for most home runs in a single
season at Texas.
• Johnson' blast was Texas' 47th homer of the year, setting a
new UT single-season team record. The previous record was 46, set by the
2006 team.
