Diggs Leads Track and Field Through Houston Indoor Invitational

HOUSTON -- Ivan Diggs took first place in the men's high jump, clearing 2.14m (7-00.25) to lead the University of Houston track and field team through the second day of competition at the Houston Indoor Invitational.
The finish notched Diggs' fourth collegiate win of the season.
In the women's shot put, freshmen Charlissa Foster and Kiara Pulliam finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Foster's toss of 14.22m (46-08.00) and Pulliam's toss of 14.14m (46-04.75) are currently the fourth and fifth best marks recorded in Conference USA this year. Both also set personal records.
For the men, sophomore Brandon Hubbard finished eighth in the shot put with a mark of 14.68m (48-02.00).
Freshman Ed Turner took a second place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.92, tying the fifth fastest mark in C-USA this season. Turner also holds the current conference best in the long jump with a leap of 7.41m (24-03.75).
In the 200-meter dash, freshman Lazarus Crumedy finished in second place, posting a time of 22.30. Senior Dominic Milton took fifth place with a mark of 22.50. For the women, sophomore Ciara Willis finished eighth with a time of 26.10.
Finishing out the competition in the men's heptathlon, junior Morgan Floyd posted a second place finish with a total of 4,815 points.
Sophomore Alex Bentley tied for a third place finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.95m (16-02.75). Freshman Bryan Brown also competed for UH, finishing in a tie for 15th.
Competing in the women's high jump for the Cougars was freshman Laura Allred who finished in tenth after clearing 1.68m (5-06.00).
In the mile, senior Oumama Hallal finished fourth with a time 5:11.75. Also competing for the Cougars was Junior Kelcee Keenan who posted a personal record time of 5:15.39. Keenan finished in eighth place.
In the women's 800-meters, senior Jennifer Harper posted a time of 2:18.78 to finish sixth. Sophomore Erica Hannemann set a personal record with a time of 2:23.60 as she finished 11th. Also competing for the Cougars was freshman Lindsey Marshall who came in 31st. On the men's side, Mahmoud Harb finished 28th.
Junior Grant Hightower took eighth place in the long jump with a leap of 6.93m (22-09.00).
Senior Jennifer Hunt-Anderson posted a tenth-place finish in the womenís 400-meter dash with a time of 58.38.
In the men's 5000-meter run, freshman Antony Keller posted a time of 16:33.32, good for a ninth place finish.
UP NEXT
Houston will host the Bayou City Championships Feb. 9 inside the Yeoman Field House. The Cougars then travel back to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the Tyson Invitational Feb. 15-16.
