HOUSTON - With its first intra-squad scrimmage of the season on the horizon, the University of Houston spent over two hours practicing outside, as the defending Conference USA Champions wrapped up its second week of the preseason.
UH is slated for a scrimmage tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm, while spending the morning taking part in the annual Football Media Day activities. Houston will take its team photo at Robertson Stadium in the morning, and then selected players will be with the local media for the press luncheon in the late morning at the Athletics/Alumni Center.
UH head coach Art Briles already has a plan for tomorrow head-to-head encounter.
"Of course, we'll mix it up pretty good, and we'll keep our players health in the utmost (regard) as always," said Briles. "It's a time of year that we feel like we're ready to get in and turn it up a little bit, play at a little faster pace.
"(The scrimmage) will involve some live kicking situations which is always critical this time of year. I feel as good about our special teams as I have since I've been here. Top to bottom it's the best unit that we've had. So, I think that will be a real strength for us. We're anxious to get them on the field and let them play."
The scrimmage will be open to the public; however, the UH Media Day is reserved for only members of the media.
