Track and Field to Travel to TSU Relays, Texas Invitational

HOUSTON - The Houston track and field team will split this weekend sending their runners to the TSU Relays and the throwers and field events to the Texas Invitational.
The Cougars will complete Friday and Saturday in the TSU Relays and Saturday in the Texas Invitational.
The running events at the TSU Relays begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Friday's events will consist of the events prelims with the finals coming on Saturday.
Last season the Cougars won seven relays and seven individual events at the TSU Relays where Houston was led by Jonathan Reeves and Seun Adigun who each had two individual wins. Oumama Hallal, Caresir Hamilton and Carey LaCour also recorded wins.
Field Events at the Texas Invitational will begin with the women's hammer and men's javelin at 11 a.m. at the Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium. The last field events, the women's shot, men's discus and women's triple jump, are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
This is the second weekend of the 2007 outdoor season for UH. Last weekend they hosted the Tom Tellez Invitational earning five wins and setting five NCAA Regional Qualifying times.
Earning wins were freshman Hyleta Young (long jump), junior James Lee (discus), freshman Alex Bentley (pole vault) and the men's 4x400 relay team. Lee and Bentley each set NCAA Regional Qualifying marks in their events along with junior Ivan Diggs and senior Tristian Whitley in the high jump.
