HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Houston football program will hold its annual Pro Day on Friday, March 23, to showcase its players to National Football League scouts. The event begins at 9 am in the Yeoman Field House, and fans are invited to attend as observers only.
"For me, (Pro Day) is a great opportunity for us to be able to give back to our players who've given so much to us," said UH head coach Art Briles. "We limit to our student-athletes here at the University of Houston. It is a great event for our guys to showcase their skills. This year every NFL team will be represented because we have a great group of outstanding seniors (NFL scouts) want to come and look at.
"It is a big deal for the University of Houston, the City of Houston and our football program."
This year's participants include quarterback Kevin Kolb, who rewrote the UH record book en route to being named a consensus Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year. Also, working out for the scouts is wide receivers Biren Ealy and Vincent Marshall, running backs Jackie Battle and Roy Otis, defensive backs Willie Gaston and Will Gulley, tight end Rodney Hannah, linebacker Wade Koehl, defensive lineman Marquay Love and all-purpose threat Roshawn Pope.
