Anthony Jones Signs With Houston

Houston - University of Houston head basketball coach Tom Penders announced that Anthony Jones, a 6-6 forward from Seminole State College in Oklahoma has signed to play for the Cougars in 2006-07.
Jones averaged 8.5 points. 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field (103-199) as a sophomore.
He went to Seminole after being named the First-Team All-District and Defensive Player of the Year as a senior when he averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots per game at Richland Hills High School in Fort Worth.
Jones rejoins his teammate from Seminole, Robert Lee, who signed with the Cougars earlier this spring. The other members of Houston's signing class include Nic Mosley of Bellville High School, Robert McKiver and Tafari Toney of San Jacinto College, Marcus Malone of Lee College, Charlie Jones of Blinn College. In addition, Texas transfer Dion Dowell will also play for the Cougars in 2006-07, and Houston signed another transfer, Marcus Cousin from Seton Hall, who will sit out the 2006-07 season.
