GAME NOTES
** Cougars dropped to 29-29-2 (.500) in all-time season openers... Cougars fell to 32-28 (.533) in all-time home openers.
** Cougars fell to 5-10 (.333) on Thursdays during the program's all-time history... Head coach Art Briles dropped to 1-4 (.200) in non-Saturday games.
** Cougars fell to 71-83-4 (.462) all-time during their history in the month of September.
** With three rushes, running back Anthony Evans broke out of a tie with Paul Gipson (447 rushes, 1966-68) and moved into sole possession of seventh place in UH career history with 450 rushes.
** With 24 completions, quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past Jimmy Klingler (1991-93) into fifth place in UH career history. He now has 442 completions during his career.
** With his 62-yard touchdown pass at the end of the first quarter, junior quarterback Kevin Kolb became just the fifth player in UH history to top the 6,000-yard mark in passing yards during his career. He finished the game with 6,208 career passing yards.
** With his 62-yard touchdown pass at the end of the first quarter, junior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past Gary Mullins into sixth place in UH career history with 38 career touchdown passes.
** With two touchdown passes, junior quarterback Kevin Kolb recorded the 13th game of his collegiate career with at least two TD passes.
** With two receptions, junior wide receiver Vincent Marshall has recorded at least one reception in 25 consecutive games dating back to the season opener on Aug. 30, 2003, against Rice at Robertson Stadium.
** Wide receiver Donnie Avery's 70-yard touchdown reception at the 3:31 mark of the first quarter was the longest catch of his career.. It topped his previous long of 60 yards against Tulane on Oct. 30, 2004.
** Wide receiver Anthony Alridge's 60-yard touchdown reception at the end of the first quarter was the first reception of his collegiate career.
** Wide receiver Anthony Alridge posted the first 100-yard receiving game of his career with 103 yards.
** Wide receiver Donnie Avery posted the first 100-yard receiving game of his career with 100 yards.
** Senior tight end John McGilvray's 16-yard reception late in the third quarter was the first of his career.
** Sophomore inside linebacker Trent Allen recorded his first career interception at the 4:20 mark of the fourth quarter.
** Oregon kicker Paul Martinez's five field goals tied a single-game record by a UH opponent. It equaled the five field goals kicked by Washington kicker Jeff Jaeger on Sept. 21, 1985.
** CONSECUTIVE STARTS STREAKS: Senior defensive end Kade Lane made his 37th consecutive start, dating back to Aug. 31, 2002, against Rice at Rice Stadium... Quarterback Kevin Kolb made his 25th consecutive start dating back to season opener on Aug. 30, 2003, against Rice at Robertson Stadium.
** FIRST STARTS: Freshman inside linebacker Cody Lubojasky and junior inside linebacker Trent Allen made their first collegiate starts on defense. On offense, sophomore wide receiver Anthony Aldridge and sophomore right tackle Dustin Dickinson made their first collegiate starts.
