USASA National Team Player Sophia Mundy transfers to Houston Soccer

Sophia Mundy, a Katy, TX native signed a statement of financial aid to play with the University of Houston Cougar Soccer Team for the next two years.
Mundy transfers to UH from Portland St. University where she started all 19 games in the center midfield and the forward slot both her freshman and sophomore season. In her sophomore campaign, Mundy tallied four goals and eight assists which put her second on the team with 16 points. She paced the team with eight assists in both her season with the Vikings.
Mundy, a two-time Big Sky All Conference player, looks to make an immediate impact on this years Cougar squad that brings in 14 new faces to the roster.
Mundy had the honor of played with the USASA National Team that traveled to Mexico to play against the Mexican National Team. Mundy fired in the game winning goal against the Mexican National Team in a 3-2 victory.
Coach Bill Solberg said, "We are so incredibly excited to have a player of Sophia's caliber join our team. She will bring a new level of intensity and passion to our team. Someone who gets selected at that high of a level can only better this team and help to lead our team back to being a Conference leader."
