Returns for senior season as the Cougars' top running back... is listed as the starter at the I-Back spot coming out of spring camp... despite calf injury, was the most productive rusher for the Cougars last season... explosive runner who has a constant motor and tends to make defenders miss... is a slasher between the tackles and has an extra gear to get to the corner... also a talented receiver out of the backfield... heads into senior season in 10th place all-time in rushing yards with 2,117... is currently tied for seventh in attempts (447) and is just four rushing touchdowns away from cracking the UH Top 10... is looking to become only the third back in UH history to top 3,000 yards rushing, joining Ketric Sanford and Chuck Weatherspoon.
2004: Led the Cougars in rushing despite missing three games with an injured calf... Played in eight games with four starts... Finished with 788 yards rushing with four scores... Averaged 98.5 yards per game, which would've ranked him fourth overall in Conference USA... Tied for team lead with 19 rushing yards on seven carries against Rice.... Rushed for a career-best 282 rushing yards on 34 carries and a pair of touchdowns in the Cougars' Conference USA opener against Army... Set new personal single-game highs in both rushing yards and carries... Tied as the second-highest single-game rushing performance in UH history... Also hauled in one catch for 12 yards against the Black Knights... Missed the Miami game after injuring his calf during pregame warm-ups... Returned to the Cougar lineup and led UH with 59 rushing yards on 10 carries at C-USA rival TCU... Led all players with 87 rushing yards on 19 carries against C-USA rival Tulane... Rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries against East Carolina during Homecoming... Finished out the season strong with 102 yards rushing against UAB and 80 yards and one score against a very good Louisville squad.
2003: Became only the 20th player in school history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a single season after finishing the season with a team-best 1,149 yards on the ground... Joined with wide receiver Brandon Middleton to give the Cougars their first 1,000-yard rusher and 1,000-yard receiver in one season since 1989... Tied for the team lead with nine rushing touchdowns... led the Cougars with 72 rushing yards on 12 carries in the season opener against Rice... recorded 71 rushing yards on 15 carries at Louisiana-Lafayette... recorded 89 rushing yards on 18 carries against Mississippi State... led Cougars with 69 yards on only eight carries and added a 48-yard touchdown that sealed the win for the Cougars in front of a nationally-televised audience on ESPN2 at East Carolina... his 48-yard run was a career best... made his first career start against the Pirates... enjoyed the first 100-yard rushing game of his career with 103 yards on 20 carries at Tulane... added a pair of touchdowns in the Cougar win... was the first time in his career that he scored two or more touchdowns in a game... led the Cougars against Memphis with 76 rushing yards on 15 carries... rushed for a then-career-best 116 yards on 24 carries against Southern Miss at UH's Homecoming game... paced the Cougar rushing attack and set new personal single-game bests in yards and carries for the second consecutive week at Army when he rushed 32 times for 140 yards and added a three-yard touchdown run to help the Cougars tie the game late in the first quarter... also hauled in a pair of receptions for 13 yards against the Black Knights... posted another career-best rushing total for the third consecutive week at Louisville with 146 yards on 25 carries. .. added a two-yard touchdown run against the Cardinals... set a new personal single-game high for the fourth straight week with 165 rushing yards against UAB during the Cougars' bowl-clinching win... set another personal best with three rushing touchdowns and tied his career high with 32 carries against the Blazers... rushed for 6 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries at Hawai'i during the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl... helped tie the game in the first overtime period with a six-yard touchdown.
2002: Appeared in all 12 games... finished freshman season with 180 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 58 carries... made two receptions as well... returned three kickoffs for 87 yards, an average of 29.0 yards per return... made Cougar debut an impressive one in the season opener against Rice, carrying the ball 17 times for 55 yards, including an 18-yard effort... rushed for 32 yards on seven carries and gave the Cougars an early lead in the third quarter with a 14-yard scamper against Tulane.
2001: Redshirted as a true freshman.
High School: Starred at Pearland High School... two-time District MVP... four-time All-District selection... first-team All-State as a senior; Second-Team, All-State as a junior... Houston Chronicle Player-of-the-Year... rushed for 6,192 yards and 66 touchdowns in his career... rushed for over 2,000 yards in two consecutive seasons... topped 300 yards rushing on five occassions... participated in PALS (Peer Assistant Leadership Skills)... maintained a 3.46 grade point average... was a regional qualifier in the 4x100-meter relay.
Personal: Born January 16, 1983, in Lubbock, Texas... son of Albert and Olympia Evans of Pearland, Texas... also recruited by Oklahoma, Kansas State, Baylor and UCLA... enjoys the outdoors and watching movies in his spare time... father, Albert, played football at Langston University in Oklahoma... majoring in communications.
