Glowacz Named To C-USA All-Decade Team

HOUSTON - The league offices of Conference USA announced its All-Decade Softball Team, with current Houston Cougar senior Kristen Glowacz making the grade as voted on by league coaches.
In all, 10 athletes were honored as members of the All-Decade Team, and Glowacz along with DePaul's Saskia Roberson were the only two honorees who played during the 2005 season.
Glowacz was a three-time All-Conference First-Team selection (2003, 2004, 2005), was the 2002 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, was a seven-time C-USA Hitter of the Week, the USA Softball Collegiate National Player of the Week for the week of March 3, 2005, and the 2005 co-MVP of C-USA.
She also became Houston's first All-Region player with two Second-Team citations (2003, 2004) during her career with the Cougars, and is the C-USA all-time RBI leader and No. 2 on the career home run list.
Picking up the Player of the Decade was DePaul's Lindsay Chouinard (2000-03), and DePaul's current head coach, Eugene Lenti, was named the Coach of the Decade.
The All-Decade members included: DePaul's Liz Bouck (2000-03), Sarah Martz (2001-04) and Saskia Roberson (2002-2005), Houston's Kristen Glowacz (2002-2005), Louisville's Keola Calderon (2000-03), Southern Miss' Courtney Blades (2000) and Amy Berman (2000), as well as USF's Holly Groves (2002-04) and Leigh Ann Ellis (2003-04).
