Andrew Carruthers Named Conference USA Athlete of the Week

Houston, Texas - University of Houston senior hurdler Andrew Carruthers was named the Conference USA Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week after winning the 400-meter hurdles and finishing as the runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles at the Golden Bear Invitational in Berkeley, Calif., last Saturday.
Carruthers improved his NCAA Regional qualifying times in both events as he posted a season-best time of 51.38 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles and 14.05 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.
He and the Cougars will be competing at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational this Saturday in Baton Rouge, La.
