HOUSTON - The University of Houston baseball team's game time for Tuesday, April 19 at area-rival Sam Houston State was moved up to 2 p.m., head coach Rayner Noble announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Bearkats are building a new home baseball stadium, but the facility will not be ready for Tuesday's game in Huntsville, Texas. As a result, the game will be played at Holleman Field, which does not have lights.
Before meeting Sam Houston State, though, the Cougars will travel east on Interstate 10 to meet Conference USA rival Tulane in a three-game series at Turchin Stadium in New Orleans. That series begins at 6:30 p.m., Friday, continues at 2 p.m., Saturday and wraps up at 1 p.m., Sunday.
Friday's game can be heard live on KLVL 1540 AM with Saturday's and Saturday's contest being broadcast on KGBC 1540 AM. All three games can be heard live on the Internet at www.UHCougars.com with former Cougar players Nick Torina and Pat Cauley calling all the action. The pregame show is slated to begin 15 minutes before first pitch.
