DALLAS, Texas - For the third time this season, senior Kristen Glowacz has been named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week after hitting .692 (9-of-13) on the week with three home runs, eight runs and six RBI.
The Katy, Texas, native earned the eighth weekly honor of her career as she knocked out two homers in as many games against Sam Houston, then hit an incredible .875 (7-for-8) in a weekend series against Saint Louis.
In Game 2 of the series with the Billikens, Glowacz turned in a record breaking performance, going 4-for-4 at the plate to tie a C-USA record for most hits in a game, and grabbed the top spot for most home runs in a career with her third homer of the week and 44th of her career.
That same bomb marked her 14th of the year and tied her own school record for most home runs in a season set during the 2003 campaign when she was a sophomore.
Glowacz offense helped fuel the Cougars to a 5-0 record during the week, tying the longest winning streak for the team this season, and lifted the Cougars to a 23-20 overall record and a 6-6 mark in C-USA play.
The third baseman and the rest of the Houston team travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., this weekend for a three-game weekend series with Southern Miss beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 16, at 1 p.m.
